So Heinz are about to sell an exclusive new ketchup flavour exclusively through Facebook. It is kind of interesting that another company is going down the track that ASOS and French Connection and selling via social networks – and we thought Facebook was just for friends and games! It certainly addresses the apparent pointlessness of big brands having a Facebook page – so you ‘like’ a faceless multi-national corporate - yay.  What makes this phenomenon really interesting though is the fact that the £1.49 for the ketchup goes direct to Heinz, with no retail or online shop margin in sight. Now that’s a reason to have a Facebook page :D
