Senior Tools Programmer - C++ Art Tools / Pipeline / Workflow
A cutting-edge AAA studio working on a multi-platform AAA open world title, my client is characterized by its exceptional talent pool and an unwavering commitment to crafting a groundbreaking gaming experience. As their Tools Programmer you will be responsible for the reliable delivery of best-in-class art tools for your team, pushing for quality at every opportunity to ensure that colleagues from all disciplines have what they need to do their work to the best of their ability. You will share your knowledge with those with less experience to ensure high quality code is created throughout the team.
Key Duties Include
- Ensure excellent quality work is produced throughout the team, including the use of automated testing processes
- Work closely with all content teams to ensure they have the art tools needed, and actively identify areas of improvement
- Pro-actively seek opportunities to improve the quality of everything we do
- Actively take part in and encourage our collaborative and creative team spirit
Requirements
- Experience working as an art Tools Programmer on one or more AAA titles
- Knowledge of common DCC tools, such as 3DS Max, Maya, Substance Suite, and Houdini
- Passion for tools development and improving the working environment of others
- Solid understanding of code architecture best practices
- Work effectively and independently with minimum guidance and support
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for gaming and game development
Desirable
- Experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5 on a AAA title
- Experience mentoring other Engineers
- Experience supporting remote teams
- Experience in planning and delivering large bodies of work throughout the full project lifecycle
