Happy 2012, Welcome back all – Firstly a massive pat on the back for the whole team for hitting the ground running in January with an over sales target performance across the business
. This will be continued into 2012 as we continue to build new client relationships in console, social, online and publishing as we promised. New clients on boarded this month include terms agreed with gaming clients in Germany, France, New York and Toronto giving us wider reach into new target global locations and more choice to our exclusive networks.
Ben Blackston will be joining us next Monday 30th as a contract trainee recruiter assisting Simon Pittam and Matthew Mccarthy with sourcing in the contract games jobs market. Ben is an up and coming sales graduate who’s a grade 8 piano player to boot. We look forward to welcoming another employee into this growing team and forcing Ben to play the piano when we are next out on a works social.
The search still goes on for Java and Technical recruiters who fancy a move into games, so if you know anyone who’s looking please get in touch with their details. The amiqus website will also be going down shortly for a temp overhaul. Fingers crossed you will love the new site structure and jobs search functionality section.
Please also remember to follow our twitter feeds in 2012 @wearemiqus or @stigstrand @kevindekoninck @matt_amiqus @amiqusjohn @lee_at_amiqus for the best games jobs on the market.

An exceptional career opportunity has arisen for a capable #AccountManager within an expanding direct #digital and #marketing agency. Offering fully integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns, this client-facing role covers both creative and marketing services across digital, off and online channels.
With a proven track record in delivering excellent campaigns and marketing services, you will be a skilled project manager with experience of utilising multi-disciplined staff. You should consider yourself highly commercial and a keen negotiator with an eye on the bottom line, and a head for finances. You should also gel with a collaborative, supportive culture where you can look forward to kicking-back with your colleagues at the end of a productive day
Excellent client-relationship skills are a pre-requisite, as you will be delivering multiple concurrent projects across a portfolio of key clients. You will be responsible for eliciting and scoping your clients needs, then defining the brief and delegating each component within budget. This is a role with a very broad remit including technology (CRM, data-base, direct marketing) analytics, project and resource planning AND creative elements, so your interface will be with varied internal specialist teams.
This makes it a far more interesting challenge than your average Account Management role!

“To add value it’s important to present candidates who are not available through the client’s own channels. Amiqus proactively engages with talent using an array of social and professional networking channels. We are active participants within their virtual community. This ensures that through us, the client accesses the best talent available, not just the most visible.”

We’re investing in some really cool stuff in the development of our social recruiting and corporate social networking capabilities. We have retained a specialist social media agency, Carve Consulting (real online gurus!) to create a fantastic online presence for Amiqus and we’ll be launching our programme at the end of this month.
We are moving more of our engagement and attraction techniques on line because we believe that social media has led to a fundamental shift in user behaviour : we’re all now connecting, communicating and sharing using these tools. To ensure we, and our clients engage and attract the very best talent, we’ve placed social media capabilities at the heart of our operations.
Our programme – which entails owned, earned, shared and paid social media strategies - is focusing on peering consultants’ knowledge and expertise directly to candidates and clients via social platforms. Launching under the WeAreAmiqus banner, the programme incudes the roll out of enterprise-class listening and management tools to all consultants. Social media is about people: our programme is about providing our people with the understanding, confidence and tools they need.
We’re really excited about our new online space, we would love you to join us.
We Are Amiqus, We know your world.

For those of you who like to keep up to date with the latest news stories, Yahoo have just launched Upshot: “a news blog that will rely on search queries to help guide its reporting and writing on national affairs, politics and the media” (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/05/business/media/05yahoo.html?src=busln).
The Editor – Andrew Golis said: “Our goal is to be blunt narrators of the day’s news, to cut through the noise and misinformation and get to the heart of what’s important and why. …. (Covering) what’s happening in the world with short bursts of reporting and analysis.”

It’s great to see the digital marketing industry thriving, with the search marketing industry valued at approximately £2.15 billion in 2009 (http://www.utalkmarketing.com/pages/Article.aspx?ArticleID=18177&Title=Advertisers_failing_to_integrate_Search_Marketing,_says_IAB).
However, despite the growth of ecommerce, there are many companies still without a dedicated online marketing strategy!!!
According to IAB, over 50% of marketers expect their SEO and PPC budgets to increase over the next 12 months. This is good news for the industry, and is where Amiqus can offer the benefit of our networks and expertise.
