Amiqus are proud to share that we have a half marathon team getting fired up for this year’s Great Run Manchester for Special Effect.
“It’s such a worthwhile charity, joining the guys at Special Effect is an honour for Team Amiqus” self-appointed coach Alan told me. "I've done a half marathon and a half Ironman before [kisses biceps] but 13.1 miles is always a long way".
Special Effect change people's lives for the better - check out their amazing work here and also have a read of our Games for Good article where we speak to Bill Donegan from the charity.
I caught up with the guys before heading out for their first 5k lunchtime training run today. They've dubbed it 'Fat Club':-
“I’m gonna smash it” declared Alan.
"Let's 'ave it" grinned Will.
“I’ll be reet” said Liam.
“I’m tired” Lee confessed.
Lookin' good guys! We’ll be blogging as the training progresses ahead of the event on Sunday 28th May, which will be televised nationally on the BBC.
