We are working with a Guildford based Games Company who are expanding their existing Art team and want an imaginative, experienced 3D Generalist Artist to come on board who shares their ‘big heart, big ideas’ mentality.
You will play a pivotal role not only in the team, but in the company, who provide an empowering, collaborative and fun environment to explore your creative vision and enthusiasm for games. You will be working alongside people who are truly passionate about what they do!
Right now, they are busy building a co-op action RPG game for consoles and PC that looks at the joy of discovery, which very much reflects their ethos as a business.
The role:
- Researching, concepting and prototyping
- You will be reporting to and working closely with the Art Director
- Translating 2D concept artwork, as well as written and verbal direction into playable game art
- Getting involved in setting the broader visual style of the game
- Work closely with other artists and coders to get quality artwork into the game
- Working fast and collaboratively to make your work come alive!
About you:
- A solid portfolio, demonstrating an ability to create a variety of high-quality game-ready 3d assets from start to finish. Imagination is crucial – they want to see your personality and individuality
- 2+ years proven industry experience
- Demonstrable expertise in 3d software (Maya, 3DS Max)
- Ability to create incredible textures and materials
Bonus Points (the nice to haves but not essentials):
- ZBrush and Substance experience
- Examples detailing aesthetic eye and artistic flair (this can be outside of games: photography, life drawing, writing, music and dance)
This company truly understands the game industry and get excited about exploring ways to capture people’s imaginations. If you share this mindset and are looking for a supportive and fun place to take your career to the next level, please send your CV to Louise Wardale
