Amiqus have partnered with an established start-up with a mission – to develop a platform for surgeons to practice complex operating procedures in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Having delivered their first range of products to the market, they are looking for talented and motivated individuals to join them, building ‘flight simulators for surgery’. They have won awards such as ‘Best Invention of the Year’ and are working with some of the world’s leading healthcare and research providers such as the Mayo Clinic, Harvard Medical School and King’s College, to name but a few!

In this role, you will work closely with the rest of the art team, the engineers, the medical, educational and design team to produce realistic, immersive content. You will follow and help develop the artwork style, tools, techniques and pipeline for the product. Expect to produce simulation ready optimised artwork in a realistic style that is suitable for VR runtime, and participate in agile development and SCRUM.

To be considered, we would like to see:

  • Experience in multiple 3D art projects completed in a similar artist role.
  • A strong eye for detail and understanding of Human Skeletal anatomy, a broader experience in animating and rigging soft tissue and hard surface meshes is also preferred.
  • A proven ability to drive forward the technical pipeline and toolset for rigging and animation to accommodate forward thinking solutions.
  • A proven track record of both artistic and technical creativity, with a passion for working with teams and solving problems.
  • A deep knowledge of 3D animation and rigging packages (Maya/Max/Motion builder etc), both hand driven and procedural / script / helper driven solutions is preferred.
  • An Interest in VR, MR and AR technologies is essential, experience is preferred
  • Experience of Unity is essential, other game engine experience is a plus.
  • Experience in realtime soft body, fluid and physics simulations an advantage
  • Experience in creating textured art assets as advantage.
