Art Director

  • Location: London
  • Salary/rate: DOE
  • Date posted: 05/12/17
  • Job reference: 6219
  • Permanent

Are you a fan of MMO RPGs? Do you want to work on a brand new unannounced IP?

We are working with a development studio who are working on a brand new PC based MMO RPG, their game references include "dark age of camelot", Diabo and Ultima Online; they are looking to bring AAA game-play and production values by working smarter, with fewer people than a traditional studio.

The studio is brand new, albeit a part of a well respected and known games development company. As such it has the perfect blend of an exciting start up feel, but with the financial security and benefits of an established studio.

The art style hasn't been locked down, they do know that it will be stylised to a degree, and kind of sci-fi, but with in proportion human characters and organic materials and foliage. It's not all hard surfaces and aliens. They need someone who can work with their ideas and begin forming a style guide they can stick to and refer back to throughout development.

Although hands-on, you will be expected to conduct style reviews, develop art bibles and manage their current artists. They are going to grow, so being able to assess talent and recruit is important.

To be considered, we'd like to see:

  • Genuine all-round art ability including 3D, environments and characters
  • Recent experience as an Art Director on a shipped title
  • Ideally a passion for MMO RPG's and/or the MOBA scene would be great
  • Confident communicator of abstract ideas and thoughts
  • Driven, passionate and motivated

This is an awesome role. Its original, new and in early stages of development. We get roles like this come up very rarely. The studio is based in London and they offer very competitive salaries and benefits packages. They will assist with relocation if required.
