Amiqus have partnered with a hugely successful, indie developer in Derby, who are constantly evolving and thriving due to the ambition of its team.


They are now seeking a highly motivated Character Artist, who will be responsible for creating a multitude of in-game characters, that comply with the games artstyle and direction. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of anatomy fundamentals and design along with an excellent understanding of the technical process involved in creating optimised in-game characters. 

You will work closely with other Character Artist, Concept Artists and Creative Leads to produce a wide range of character models and assets using the latest technologies. 

Responsibilities

  • Creating and adjusting in-game characters throughout the project
  • Optimising character assets for animation and rigging departments

Required Skills

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Game Art or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Zbrush and Maya or equivalent software
  • A portfolio demonstrating previously created game characters 
  • A strong understanding of anatomy
  • Excellent knowledge of character clothing pipelines

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in UE4 
  • Experience with SVN
  • Some concepting/designing knowledge  
  • Experience with marvelous designer 
  • Experience working with Riggers and Animators 
  • Experience skinning Character models
