I’m working with the leadership team of a brand-new studio, currently in stealth mode. They are fully backed by a global publisher. They are a remote first studio with a global footprint, but with physical studios in the UK and US. The studio leadership team has alumni from game and tech companies including Bioware, Epic, Google, Amazon, Twitch, EA and Rockstar Games.
In terms of the project, they’re developing a multi-platform 3rd person action game which is going to be designed to appeal to a much wider demographic. The core aim is to make a game consumed by everyone; of all backgrounds and ages. The game is still in pre-production so for new joiners, there is so much to shape - not only in terms of the game and it’s creative direction but in terms of processes and culture of the studio itself.
They’re now looking for an experienced Concept Artist, this role would see you work with their Art Director and current art team to further build out the vision and style of the project with early-stage concept art.
To be considered for the role, we'd love to see:
- Experience in creating high-quality 2D art, concepts, and designs for AAA game development.
- Proven track record in games industry generating concept art from sketch to final look
- Strong command of foundation art skills (drawing, painting, and rendering, material indication, perspective, composition, colour theory, design, anatomy and 2d and 3d design techniques)
- Excellent design skills with the ability to render realistic and stylised environments, characters, creatures, and props using contemporary industry standard tools and techniques.
- Solid ideation, brainstorming and, problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Photoshop with an emphasis on drawing, painting, and image making.
This is a very rare opportunity to join a Start-up but without the funding issues, and WITH the talent and publishing deal. Enjoy the best of both worlds.
The studio is offering market leading salaries (£45,000 - £55,000 for this role) and a raft of benefits including private health, enhanced pension, sign on bonuses, wellness grants, 25 days holidays and enhanced Paternity and Maternity Leave.
If the above sounds like it could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for then get in touch. For a casual chat about the role in more detail call me on 01925 839 722 or drop me an email on lee.burns@amiqus.com I look forwards to hearing from you.
