This vacancy has now expired.

Amiqus have partnered with a studio who are pushing the boundaries of interactive and immersive character-based story telling within VR. As a result, we are seeking a character artist to join them on their journey and be a part of a unique character-based major IP debut VR game, due for release in 2021.

As their character artist, you will model the characters and have a passion for the details of human anatomy, in particular facial and micro interactions, muscle and bone positions, proportions, facial expressions and human character creation. You will have several years' experience and a portfolio boasting realistic scenes, characters, faces and assets.

In addition, it is important that you possess:

  • Solid problem-solving and communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of 3D packages such Maya and Z-brush
  • Knowledge of Unity and writing scripts to automate character creation processes
  • An eagerness to drive VR character interactions forward into the future
  • Exceptional eye for detail
  • If you also have experience of creating characters for VR games then that would be a bonus, but we won’t hold it against you if you don’t.

Ideally, we would also like to see:

Experience of full game cycle development in a similar role
Experience with the development and implementation of character pipelines

This is also an opportunity to work alongside a leading university who are advising on the psychology of human micro interactions to ensure the characters are believable - cool right?

In return, the studio are offering a competitive salary and host of benefits. They are a friendly team with a collaborative and inclusive vibe. To throw your hat into the ring, send your CV to Chloe.O'Brien@amiqus.com!
