  • Location: Liverpool
  • Salary/rate: £25,000 - £30,000
  • Date posted: 20/11/20
  • Job reference: 7983
  • Permanent

A Liverpool-based games studio is currently looking for a Game Designer to work on a range of hugely exciting, fun and fast paced PC/Console titles.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Creative Director in designing the core mechanics of these new titles.

As the Game Designer, you will be outlining new ideas for the title, such as prototyping, mechanic design, core game design and interactive narration for the users – you must also bring FUN to the games! You will be up to date with present PC/Console trends and enjoy playing and making games. The ideal candidate will understand the games market and have good knowledge of analysing in-game metrics and tweaking gameplay/levels as needed.

This role will promote freedom in your work style and will allow you to be creative with your design – the design is at the heart of all their games so it’s important to understand the overall experience of playing the game, rather than focusing solely on the mechanics.

This role is 100% remote working; however, you must be UK based currently for monthly meetings in the future.

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Designer in the Games industry
  • Experience of prototyping, mechanic design and core game design
  • Worked on either console/PC or mobile games (Console preferred)
  • Experience of writing clear and concise specs and feature documentation
  • A bonus if you have Scripting and in-Engine experience
In addition to a great work life balance, the studio can offer perks such as pension, 28 days holiday, a bonus scheme and annual attendance to game events.
