We’re looking for a Game Economy Designer & Balancer, who will be responsible for the economy, game balance, mechanics and monetisation of idle and super casual games. The studio this role is with, is based in Cirencester. They're a small studio of around 30, but have been around for a number of years and have recently enjoyed being acquired by a global publisher, securing their future. They've made a real success of developing super casual and idle games; their path to improvement however is to extend the choices the player has whilst playing the game. This is where you could come in. They need someone who can design and manage increasingly more complex game economies. This is a crucial role, you'll be able to work across multiple projects, so within a short space of time you can have several shipped titles to your name. The studio has a very flat hierarchy, so you'd be having a big impact and really seeing your work in the game.
Day to day you can expect to be involved in:
- Working on & designing game systems, economies and balance
- Improving retention and monetisation
- Ideas for game updates & improvements
- Suggesting AB tests & analysing the results
- Coming up with ideas for new games and & genres to work on
To be considered for this role, we'd love to see:
- A passion for games (and ideally mobile games)
- Worked on successful free to play games
- Experience & understanding of Idle and Incremental games
- Strong maths & an analytical brain
- Understanding of FTP monetisation & economies
- Team player with no ego
This is a superb chance to join a growing and successful studio. They are based in the heart of Gloucestershire in Cirencester. It is a relatively small town, but a beautiful and tranquil place which exhibits the best of the Cotswolds. It is near several key hubs including Swindon and Cheltenham.
The role comes with a competitive salary between £30,000-£45,000 plus benefits. They have a casual and flexible working environment.
