We're partnered with a AAA console game developer, based in the heart of the Midlands, who are world famous for their outstanding racing games. They are moving more towards not only traditional AAA Game releases, but combining that with a strong Games as a service model. Where the players can enjoy a long term commitment from the studio to deliver new content such as vehicles, tracks and challenges.
As part of this development they are looking for a Game Economy Designer. This is someone who not only understands meta-game design but also someone who can zoom in on the nuts and bolts of a game economy to ensure the game is balanced enough to enhance the player experience. You will not only me looking at the in-game soft and hard currencies, but also the wider game balance of economy. This is an important role to this team, they are developing a game within a well-known and much loved franchise and want to get this right first time. The role would see you working with the Game Director.
To be considered for this role, we'd like to see:
- Long term background in video game design
- Specialty interest in game economies
- Experience working on either Free2play mobile games or subscription based console/PC titles would be ideal
- That you have a 'player first' mentality when designing
- Skills with Excel and other stats based software
- Passion for video games
- Collaborative and empathetic communication style
This is a brand new role for an established studio, but working on a brand new title. This game is currently unannounced, but the franchise is live and has a superb fan-base. This role is based full-time onsite in Leamington Spa. They pay competitive salaries and enjoy a whole raft of benefits.
