Amiqus have partnered with a Video Games University based in the North West, who require a Games Development Lecturer to help assist and deliver content to their students.
The University are looking for an experienced Programmer/Developer who wants to change careers and give something back to the industry, teaching a range of programming topics and techniques which will shape the next generation of Programming students.
The University are looking to recruit someone who will be able to actively contribute to the learning content that they teach to their students, with a confident and high energy approach. You’ll take on multiple roles in this position, including Lecturer, Mentor and being a Personal Tutor to a handful of students.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys developing and teaching people to be able to take on the challenges of the games industry and preparing them appropriately. Your day to day will consist of delivering lectures to first, second and final year students, keeping up to date with modern coding methods and assessing assignments against industry standards. You must also be able to give constructive feedback to help improve the learning cycle of each module.
The role will also require you to go to games industry events, helping form partnerships for placement year students and taking part in talks.
Requirements
- Degree Educated
- Teaching qualification or preparedness to work towards one
- At least 3 years games studio experience
- Past lead or mentoring experience
- Past experience with either C++ and C#
- Experience with Unity and/or Unreal Engine
