Can you Optimize shaders and rendering to achieve very high frame rates while maintaining visual targets? Are C++ and UE4 'your' language and area of expertise?
We've partnered with a well known console developer who have a brand new team working on an as yet unannounced AAA project project. This game is in really early stages of development so it's a great time to join. Although they are part of a much bigger company, this small and autonomous studio will offer you the freedom and pace of a start-up but with the security of a more established studio.
In this role you can expect to own the rendering pipeline and collaborate with tech art to establish and maintain the asset pipeline. You will also support R&D initiatives to improve the process of world building and collaborate closely with the art team to help develop the visual direction for games.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Worked in a similar role, in a games studio on at least 3 shipped (ideally console) titles
- Strong programming and debugging skills in C++.
- Strong knowledge of GPU pipelines and shader programming.
- Strong knowledge of DirectX or OpenGL.
- Experience working with Unreal‘s RHI API.
- Good knowledge of mathematics in computer graphics.
- Comfortable with content creation tools like Max/Maya.
- Experience with environment procedural generation highly desirable.
This really is a brilliant role where you ca really take the lead on large chunks of this game, not only that, but the studio has multiple roles open, so the space and path is there for you to grow and move into more lead positions if that's the way you want to develop your career.
The studio offers very competitive salaries (up to £70k for an absolute slam-dunk candidate) plus great benefits and relocation packages should you need it.
