ABOUT US:
Maze Theory is pushing the boundaries of interactive and immersive character-based story telling within VR. We are seeking a Head of Production to work various immersive VR & non-VR projects.
As part of the Maze Theory’s Senior Management Team and reporting to the Studio Director you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our portfolio, the production discipline and the producers within the studio. You will be an experienced production leader and have built, grown and improved teams to deliver proven critical and commercially successful titles.
ABOUT YOU:
● Production focused background in both internal & external video game development
● Excellent clear & open communication style which encourages collaboration
● Deep & demonstrable knowledge of game development & industry trends

● Proven record of leading the production discipline & acting as a mentor to producers
● Business-driven with a commitment to developing the long-term success of a growing Studio
● Confidently respond to the needs of the teams when facing changes & problem-solving
● In-depth knowledge of development practices of multi-disciplinary teams
● Comfortable in taking on creative, technical and analytical challenges
● Capable and experienced in handling multiple projects
● Ability to adapt to fluid situations and in knowing when to stick or to pivot the plan
● Able to manage your own time and work proactively, whilst managing the time of others
● Exceptional eye for detail whilst understanding the bigger picture
● Experience with the development and implementation of game development pipelines
● Ability to establish and maintain budgets for multiple products, track road map releases
● Wide experience of release management and deployment across multiple platforms ● An open-minded and inclusive mind-set
We see this as an experienced senior level role and we’re seeking an individual who can grow with the Studio and existing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Work with the Studio Director, Studio Management team, producers & key stakeholders to deliver new cutting-edge immersive storytelling experiences ● Establish & own the delivery of the studios release schedule, tracking project budgets with the Studio Director, Studio Management team & producers ensuring development remains within scope and to the Creative Directors vision ● Validate roadmaps with production & the leads team to ensure sufficient planning surrounds resources, costs & scheduling in support the games vision & business requirements ● Ensure the clear documentation and tracking of production roadmaps, backlogs, milestones and other planning artefacts to deliver our project needs on time and to budget ● Ensure production documentation is publicised, visible and self-explanatory to the team & stakeholders, in particular Studio Leadership ● Managing and supporting in-house development teams, coordinating external development support team e.g. insource / outsource ● Working with the Producers & Leads on a per-project basis in managing feature prioritisation
● Act as the key point of contact between the game teams and studio leadership and/or external partnerships ● Ensure the efficient running of sprints and direct the day-to-day implementation of our commonsense Agile process ● Briefing studio leadership on product progress and performance against schedule / scope & budget on a regular basis ● Maintain a positive and productive relationship with all project contributors. This means working to build honest & respectful relationships, providing meaningful feedback on performance whilst ensuring development priorities are understood ● Determine & take on relevant/ appropriate production tasks where necessary to facilitate the development of a given game and to provide leadership through example ● Own communicating the delivery of the development plans to deliver the studios portfolio, which fulfils the studios creative vision and the requirements of 3rd party platforms ● Communicate effectively with leadership teams at all levels on project status, risks, and platform and/or business opportunities i.e. strategic platform initiatives
