Amiqus have partnered with one of the UK’s fastest growing tech companies, who are leading the market with their software and hardware solutions for live events, concerts, theatre and now film.

Their products have been used in events as the Grammys, the Brit Awards, concerts for artists such as U2, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, in addition to product launches for Nika, Apple and so many more! 

They are now looking to make a key hire – Head of QA and Automation


Their users depend on the companies continued innovation, but most importantly they depend on reliability. Making sure that the offering is rock-solid is the most important thing and everyone in the company is involved with it.

To maintain and enhance this reputation and as the leader of the Quality Assurance team you'll be responsible for making sure that hardware and software releases are stable, perform well, and work for users in live events, on site - not just in the lab. 

As part of this, you'll gain an in-depth knowledge of the current product range and future product development in addition to how they interact with other equipment in order to find, understand and verify any issues before they hit their users.

In addition to testing both the hardware and software range for updates, patches and fixes, you will be testing products as they are developed. This may be, for example, innovations in their  software or benchmarking a new SSD in prototype hardware.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Run the QA and Automation department
  • Perform line management responsibilities for the QA team
  • Work alongside developers and the Build Engineer to provide a robust and reliable automation process
  • Maintain JIRA bug database
  • Setup and maintain Testrail
  • Setup and maintain test plans
  • Report QA issues to Head of Development in appropriate timescale to circumvent future issues
  • Open communication with the C-Team
  • Develop skill of existing QA team
  • Maintain awareness of QA and Automation innovations to ensure they remain using the best systems
  • Estimate test passes and manage expectations of stake holders to ensure they are aware of delivery timescale
  • Take responsibility for approving releases and become the ‘Gatekeeper of Quality’
  • Always re-examine processes to ensure efficiency
  • Meet regularly with the Head of Software Engineering

Qualifications, Skills & Experience required:

  • Deep knowledge of bug databases, such as JIRA
  • Deep knowledge of text tracking systems such as Testrail
  • Deep knowledge of automation systems, including understanding of code support
  • needed to use them
  • Deep interest in Automated software development, as well as ad-hoc testing
  • Extensive line management experience
  • PC hardware literate
  • Experience with Windows
  • Experience with video or graphics editing tools or similar ideal
  • Programming or scripting experience ideally
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, new challenges and emerging technologies
