We're working exclusively with one of the UK's largest game developers. They are based across the UK with their main back-office based in Sheffield. Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a HR Manager who would be responsible for roughly half of this companies individual studios. The role reports into a HR Director, with a couple of direct reports. You'd be working alongside another HR Manager, a Recruitment Manager and an L&D Manager.

Video games is both a technical and a creative industry; so a quick turn to typical policy and procedure isn't the right thing for this environment. This team are looking for those HR managers who are happy in the 'grey' area, are able to be pragmatic and personalise their response and action to the situation and individual. They want someone who will genuinely put the team and employees first, ensuring their well-being and mental health are a top priority. 

This is a brilliant role where creative thinking, new ideas and initiatives are always welcome. 

To be considered, we'd love to see:

  • Recent experience of holding a HR Manager level role or similar
  • Exposure working with a technical or creative cohort
  • Inclusive and collaborative communication style
  • Up to date grasp on all things employment law
  • Ideally have worked with a workforce of 500+
  • Working across multiple sites would be advantageous
