Junior Backend Engineer

A Guildford based Independent Games studio are currently looking to expand their development team with a Junior Backend Engineer, who will help develop their new online world. 

The team have been built with a strong AAA foundation, with a great track record of developing AAA standard games and are working on a unique PS4 Console Title. The title allows the players to explore and build their own worlds and interact with other players in a highly customisable setting. 

You do not need to be an expert in this field, but having a hunger and a desire to help build scalable systems and contribute to such an important piece of games development is paramount to the role.  

They are looking for this individual to have high energy and passion for video games and constantly come up with new and innovative ideas to keep their players engaged. You will also get involved with more traditional elements of development such as gameplay and UI programming too. 

Requirements 

• At least 1 years’ experience in a backend engineer position or using technologies such as Node.js 
• Understanding of Javascript and JSON 
• Experience of realtime REST API’s would be useful 
• Past experience of building scalable solutions for multiple concurrent users 
• Passion to work in video games
