Lead Artist

  • Location: Berlin, Germany
  • Salary/rate: DOE
  • Date posted: 12/09/17
  • Job reference: 6069
  • Permanent

Are you a talented 3D Artist with good mobile experience? Do you want to work on highly polished titles with universally appealing graphics and art styles?

We're working with an established start up who already have one great game released and are working on a second. They have a small team of three artists, and are looking for a Lead Artist to join the team and and take over this growing team.

You'd be working on art for their existing game, and the one currently in development. You will not only be a hands on artist, but working hand in hand with the vision holder to set art guide lines and ensure they're kept to throughout the life cycle. In this role you will be managing the other artists, future recruitment and any outsourced freelancers. The long term aim for you when you join is to eventually evolve into an Art Director.

To be considered for this role we'd love to see:

  • Recent art work on a shipped mobile game, ideally 3D
  • You have been in a leadership position in the past, formally or informally
  • You can set artistic guidelines, and keep to them yourself
  • Your references and style influences are not only from games, but cinema and other media
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication style
  • A varied, up to date and well commented portfolio
  • Unity 3D experience would be a big plus

This is a great opportunity for those candidates with ambitions to move into an Art Director role. You will always be hands on and able to maintain your skills, but you will be developing your career at the same time. The studio likes hands-on and bullshit free people. They are kind, personable, flexible and hard working.

The role offers a competitive salary as well as numerous benefits. They are based in Berlin. If you have to relocate, they will assist you.
