Lead Artist with Maya, Substance and an understanding of PBR workflow to lead and mentor an art team working on a number of cool PSVR titles. Mainly hands-on creative with some management and appraisal responsibiities.

This is a studio of 45 people and is looking to grow to around 75 by the end of 2018. They're very closely aligned with the platform holders and are known as technology innovators so they’re given the latest tech before it's even a whisper in the market. You will get to work with this tech. This is a great opportunity with an established, well-funded studio, to contribute to their ongoing success. They're based in central Liverpool, so easily accessible by public transport. It's an initial 12 month contract with potential to convert to permanent in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for delivering and maintaining the art style as set by the art director.
  • Leading the art and animation team.
  • Ensure art team deliver assets to quality in a timely fashion with the support of producer.
  • Above all must have excellent 3D art skills.

 

Key Requirements

  • Manage the briefing and review of concept work and outsourced artwork.
  • Must have considerable game development experience and will delivered at least one AAA game.
  • Must be able to build and maintain good relationships with the key project stakeholders as well as the art, code and design team.
  • Needs to have demonstrable experience in team leadership and conflict management.
  • Must understand contemporary game pipelines.
  • Needs to be able to deliver AAA art content using key packages such as Maya and photoshop.
  • Must understand PBR workflow with skills in Substance preferred.
  • UE4 knowledge a distinct advantage.
  • Must have a passion and understanding of what makes AAA games great.
