Lead Character Artist to drive the visual quality (photorealistic) and character development covering pre-production on a AAA console remaster.

We’re on the look out for a Character artist on a 6-month contract starting September to cover a pre-production on AAA console remaster. The title contains photorealistic human 20th century characters only. The work would need be on site in Cheshire.  We are looking for solid experience to lead character development and drive quality.  It is likely the contract will extend beyond the 6 months and into production.

Skills

  • Good technical understanding of character and material pipelines
  • Experience of characters and facial animation techniques
  • Portfolio of realistic characters in modern engines
  • Some rigging and animation experience would be useful
  • Experience with FaceFX would be an advantage.
  • 3DS Max ideally

 

Responsibilities

  • Advise on timelines and estimates for character up-res
  • Predict risks ahead and mitigate during Pre-Production
  • Work with TD to propose and build key technical improvements for character technologies
  • Setup efficient character art pipeline for Production phase
  • Direct art team to improve key character models
This is an initial 6 month contract with strong possibility of extending into the production phase.
