Amiqus have partnered with a AAA Animation studio based in Manchester, who are currently looking to expand into Character Design and require a Lead Character Artist to help work on a number of new titles.

The studio has collaborated on some of the biggest games across all platforms and have worked with some of the biggest studios in world on a range of projects. 

Working with Animation, Design and Code teams you will collaboratively bring characters to life using sophisticated scanning, rigging, and animation technologies. You will also help identify areas of the character design pipeline that can be optimised and streamlined. 

As the Lead Character Artist you will work closely with the Art Director and completely own your Character Modelling and manage/mentor a small team. Your first mission will be to model and texture a range of characters that the player will interact with, such as NPC’s and main/playable characters for a range of titles. You will use your experience to inject realism into these characters to make them believable for the player. 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about all fields of Character Development and will have a constant drive to push the development of CG humans forward. This is a great opportunity for an exceptional candidate to be accredited for some of 2019’s most anticipated projects. 


  • At least 4 years’ experience as a Character Artist in the Games Industry 
  • Worked on at least 1 console title 
  • Past lead/mentoring experience 
  • Experience with Maya or 3DS Max and Photoshop 
  • Unreal 4 experience would be a bonus!
  • A portfolio demonstrating a range of photorealistic character art
