AAA development studio working on an open world action adventure title are looking for a Lead Designer / Design Manager to lead a current team of ten. 

As a Lead Designer / Design Manager you will work alongside the Creative Director and Lead Game Designer playing a pivotal role in managing the design processes and ensuring the successful delivery of this groundbreaking project. You will collaborate closely with other departments, such as art, programming, and production, to ensure the successful execution of design concepts throughout the development cycle.

Key Duties Include

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of game design concepts throughout the development cycle.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including artists, programmers, and producers, to develop and refine innovative game design concepts aligned with the project's vision.

Ensure the successful implementation of design ideas and mechanics, overseeing the detailed planning and execution of game content.

Effectively manage project timelines, milestones, and resources to meet delivery goals, identifying and addressing potential roadblocks proactively.

 

Requirements

Proven experience in a project management role within AAA game design.

Strong understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and industry trends.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide clear direction to team members.

Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing dependencies effectively.

A background in a creative game design role.

Proficiency with game design tools and software (Unreal Engine, Unity, or similar).

Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to enhance gameplay experiences.

Passion for gaming, a deep understanding of player motivations, and a strong creative vision.

 

Salary to £100k dependent on experience. This is a hybrid role, 3 days per week in the studio.
