Are you an experienced, hands on Environment Artist? Do you have AAA games experience? Do you want to work with one of the industry’s top game developers?

We have partnered with one of the industry’s most successful games developers, to help them find a Lead environment Artist to join their world-class development team working on their new and exciting virtual reality title.

You’ll be joining an experienced team of artists responsible for delivering AAA quality environment assets. Working as a hands-on artist with additional responsibility for team leadership of part of the art department, you will help to solve the exciting challenges facing the studio development teams.

You will have superb, demonstrable skills, knowledge & experience in the following areas;

  • Modeling, texturing, and UV mapping skills of art assets (both low and high poly).
  • Hard and soft surface 3D modelling techniques.
  • Knowledge of modern shader models and texturing techniques.
  • Understanding of form, composition, colour and lighting.
  • Create complex environments, both interior and exterior. 
  • Knowledge of architecture and able to recreate multiple architectural styles.
  • Technical understanding of digital art pipeline issues.
  • Establishing and meeting deadlines and working to a budget, including the proven ability to set and work within the technical and memory constraints of a game.
  • Technical, scheduling and budgetary requirements for environment art production.
  • Leadership, team management and organisation, together with the ability to take responsibility for assigning bodies of work to the team.
  • Providing effective & constructive feedback & critique of other’s work.
  • Communications and a talent for project & people management.
  • Able to work as part of the senior creative team, to interpret decisions and to communicate them to the team.
  • Ability to arbitrate sensitively between creative desires and production requirements.

It will be a bonus if you have;

  • You have outsourcing experience, preferably being responsible for external artists or involved directly in the feedback loop; 
  • VR Experience 


This is an incredible opportunity, offering a competitive London weighted basic salary of £50,000 - £65,000 along with a fantastic benefits package.
