This vacancy has now expired.

Are you a fan of MMO RPGs? Do you want to work on a brand new unannounced IP?

We are working with a development studio who are working on a brand new PC based MMO RPG, their game references include "dark age of camelot", Diabo and Ultima Online; they are looking to bring AAA game-play and production values by working smarter, with fewer people than a traditional studio.

The studio is brand new, albeit a part of a well respected and known games development company. As such it has the perfect blend of an exciting start up feel, but with the financial security and benefits of an established studio.

They want a core 20 minute MOBA type gameplay, then beyond that a wider RPG style of game with skill branching, quests and character development. They will also introduce a brilliant PVP multiplayer element to the game. Although these key features are in place, they are looking for a lead game designer to be able to orbit around the whole project and bring these features together in a coherent game. Furthermore, they want someone who can then dive into features and systems such as Guild and Class, and work on them at a granular level.

Although hands-on, you will be expected to manage and mentor and junior designers, you will also be working with the other leads in the studio, and reporting into the Director of Production.

To be considered, we'd like to see:

  • Long term games industry background, ideally in game and/or level design
  • Recent experience as a Lea Designer on a shipped title
  • Ideally a passion for MMO RPG's and/or the MOBA scene would be great
  • Confident communicator of creative ideas to non-creatives
  • Driven, passionate and motivated

This is an awesome role. Its original, new and in early stages of development. We get roles like this come up very rarely. The studio is based in London and they offer very competitive salaries and benefits packages. They will assist with relocation if required.
