A Midlands based Independent Games studio are currently looking to expand their development team, building on the recent success of their free to play title which has surpassed over 31 million downloads and has over 350,000 daily average users. The studio are now looking for a generalist Lead Programmer to collaborate with the Code Manager to manage a small team, while remaining hands on with developing core gameplay systems.

They are looking for this individual to have high energy and passion for video games and constantly come up with new and innovative ideas to keep their players engaged. Your core function will be to implement features to go into the game such as easy to use mechanics and slick gameplay, while mentoring/managing a small team

This role will offer you the chance to work with people on a day-to-day basis, who bring a collective portfolio of high-selling games. As the Lead Developer in this team, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and wear multiple hats, if you are a specialist or a generalist, there will be an opportunity to develop your disciplines and skills. 
You will be working on games which have attracted millions of unique players and play a huge part in developing key features, which will enable players to customise a unique gameplay experience. 

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in the games industry
  • Released at least 2 games on either console or mobile platforms  
  • Experience of leading or mentoring a team in a Lead or Senior position
  • Strong skills in either C++ or C#
  • Experience with Unity 3D preferred but not essential
