A VR Studio based in Liverpool are looking to hire a Lead Programmer to work on their new Virtual Reality Social Platform.
The Platform brings together people from around the world, where they can interact, share content and go to a range of breath-taking environments. The studio were formed by veterans from the video games industry, who have come from a long standing AAA console development background.
As the Lead Programmer you will work closely with the Technical Director in helping lead and manage a team. You’ll help out with hiring, developing and mentoring the team, consisting of Junior to Senior Programmers, as well as contributing to the studios existing codebase.
Their VR platform prides itself on its visual quality, where users talk to each other in different settings and backgrounds. You will be performing tasks, such as implementing features like the general gameplay aspects and UI, while getting involved in other development areas. This role would suit a generalist Programmer who is looking to lead a team, but also wants to stay hands on with developing systems to go into the platform.
This position will allow you to completely own a large part of the development for the platform, which is already attracting the attention of major tech and commercial companies.
Requirements
- At least 4 years’ experience in the Video Games or VR industry
- Strong C++ experience
- Familiar with Unity 3D
- Released titles on PC, Mobile or Console platforms
- Past experience of leading or mentoring/training development teams
