A Barcelona based Games studio are currently looking to expand their art team, who are aiming to create the best-in-class experiences that last forever in players memories.

The studio is looking for a Lead Technical Artist to collaborate with the Art Director, to manage a small team, while remaining hands on with bridging the gap between artists and engineers, ensuring an efficient art pipeline and optimised game.

As the Lead Technical Artist, you will work closely with the Art Director in defining the vision to the title. The ideal candidate will have a 50/50 split with code and art skills and help with pipeline issues and generate tools that will help streamline processes. This role can also offer you the chance to get involved with the future recruitment for the studio. 

This role will offer you the chance to work with people on a day-to-day basis who bring a collective portfolio of high-selling games. As the Technical Artist in this team, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and wear multiple hats, if you are a tools/pipeline/ hardware/graphics specialist or a generalist, there will be an opportunity to develop your disciplines and skills.

Requirements 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the games industry 
  • Past Console or PC game development experience 
  • Experience with at least one of Python, MEL, C#, C++ (or similar) 
  • An awareness of performance for a high-end AAA title
  • Experience with Houdini would be a bonus
