Network Programmer – BAFTA Winning Studio – Remote Working
Are you looking for a new challenge? Would you like to work on a new game from the beginning? Want to work in your own home?
A London based console studio are currently looking to expand on their recent BAFTA winning success and require a Network/Client Programmer to work on a new IP. The studio founders come with a great reputation of producing high selling games and would like this trend to continue for their new game.
The studio requires this person to work closely with the Lead Server Programmer in maintaining the server and its capabilities. The Server is already set up and ready to go, so your task will be to work on enhancing its features to be able to cope with a huge demand and involved with how quickly users connect to the game without any issues
The game will be exciting and fast paced, so part of your role must ensure that the gameplay process is smooth and lag free. You will also have a hand in developing the code for fair matchmaking features and player leaderboards.
This role will offer you a position of influence and close communication with the Co-Founders of the studio, to help contribute to such an important part of back-end strategy.
The studio will provide all the developments kits, software licenses and can offer 100% remote working, with some meetings in their Central London office when required.
Requirements
- Strong skills with C++
- Experience with in game engines such as Unity or Unreal (Preferred)
- Client side network experience
- Experience with Security and Anti-Cheat Measures would be a bonus!
- Able to work remotely
