We're working exclusively with the UK Trade Body for Video Games. This non-for-profit organisation is focused on making the UK the best place in the world to make and sell games. They work for over 450 members in the UK Games industry, from small indie start-ups to long established AAA developers and everything in between. As an organisation they are characterized by their unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion and collaboration.

We are looking to help them identify and hire an Operations Manager. In this role you will be standing back to back with their CEO, looking inwards to how the company is ran. You will be looking at their HR, Finance and general operational practices; looking to see where things could be more efficient and better ran. They need you to free up the CEO who is currently taking on this work-load. You'll be working with the 16 staff at their offices in London, ensuring they are working smartly towards various projects and initiatives. This is a big role. At it's heart is a growing organisation looking to be operationally slicker and more efficient. They are a non-for-profit, so economy always plays a role.

In this role, you can expect to be involved in:

  • Financial matters such as budget development, income planning, payroll and membership subscriptions
  • Managing their outsourced HR provider
  • Developing current personnel; ensuring they get the right training and mentoring
  • Working with Senior Management team and the Board on people development, target setting and overall organisational strategies
  • Improving operational systems, processes and policies around management reporting, information handling and org planning

To be considered for this role, we'd love to see:

  • Demonstrable operations experience in a previous role
  • Experience in finance, HR and 'general' administration
  • Collaborative and inclusive approach to team work
  • Someone from a Diverse background
  • You don't have to be from Games or Tech background - but an interest in those areas would be beneficial
  • Good communication style; specifically someone who is respectful, calm and friendly yet professional
  • A sense of humour; this team is eclectic and full of personality

This is a superb opportunity to join a set of authentic, hard working and welcoming people at the heart of the UK Games industry. From personal experience, I can tell you - they are a fantastic team. The role comes with a great salary and full benefits package including pension, holidays, flexible working and Christmas shut-down. They also have nice micro-benefits such as employee of the month, team socials and a real chance to be a part of the Games Industry.
