Amiqus have partnered with one of the industry’s award winning AAA racing games development studios, who are now looking to hire a Principal Physics Programmer.

Working in a passionate close-knit team that ensures your voice doesn’t get lost in the crowd, you will deliver ‘AAA’ games within a studio that will value and recognise your contributions.

 

This role requires strong C++ skills and at least five years of industry experience is essential.

 

General responsibilities and requirements include:

  • Experience of writing either a 3D physics engine, or car handling simulation on top of a physics system is essential

  • Tyre friction modelling

  • Suspension modelling

  • Translating feedback on the "feel" of the car into concrete code or data actions

 

In addition to the above, applicants should show a good understanding of how physics systems are implemented:

 

  • Work as part of a team to help develop an extensible and robust vehicle dynamics and physics simulation framework

  • Experienced with advanced physics and vehicle dynamics techniques

  • Outstanding mathematics skills including advanced optimisation approaches

  • Help maintain and enhance current physics systems

  • Strong debugging skills, a logical thinker and able to help with other game system coding when required
