Amiqus have partnered with an exciting AAA games development studio based in the Midlands who are looking to hire a talented Principal Tools Programmer to join their growing team.

The studio have released some of the highest grossing games in the console market and are looking for someone to help push the quality bar and own the tools development for their new title currently in development. 

As the Principal Tools Programmer, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Technical Director to define tools strategies of the studio. You will be working on a brand new AAA project and will be responsible for working closely with Design and Art teams, helping create, manage and improve current tool sets.    

The studio are working on a new unique project, which they’re aiming to dominate its genre and create its own gameplay style in the process. The role will allow you to be hands-on, with some mentoring responsibilities and the chance to progress to a Lead if you wish. 

You’ll help identify areas for improvement and implement tools and processes to overcome potential ‘deadline stoppers’. 

Requirements 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the games industry 
  •  Worked on at least 2 console titles 
  •  Experience with C#
  •  Exposure to GUI Toolkits such as WPF, Qt or WxWidgets
  •  Experience of scripting with Python or Perl or Similar language 
  •  Past mentoring or lead experience
