QA Tester / Junior Level Designer

Amiqus have partnered with No Brakes Games, who are looking for a QA Tester / Junior Level Designer to join them, as they embark on creating their next game.

We are a team who hire proactive and multi-talented individuals, and so this is a rare opportunity for someone to join in a QA Tester role, but also have the chance to learn and contribute towards Level Design.  
In your primary QA role, you will be testing across PC and Console Platforms. In your secondary Level Design role, you will be working in engine in Unity to create content for an unannounced game. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Testing the game, investigating bugs and reporting them to the team 
  • Ensuring the quality of our games remains high 
  • Carrying out test cases with a high attention to detail 
  • Recording bugs in a database tracker, ensuring they are clear and informative 
  • Communicating with the rest of the development team to support the development process, including reproducing bugs and validating fixes 
  • Assisting the QA Lead and Production with updating and maintaining test plans as required 
  • Co-ordinating and reviewing feedback from playtests 
  • Suggesting improvements for the game 
  • Actively contributing towards generating ideas for content
  • Creating in-game content and levels using Unity with direction from the Lead Designer 

  
Requirements:

  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn
  • PC or console gamer
  • Creative thinker
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience in Unity (as a hobby, through education, or prior work experience) 

  
Nice to have: 

  •  Experience as a QA tester on PC or Console games 
  • Experience creating and maintaining test plans 
  • Experience of bug tracking databases such as Hansoft, Jira etc. 
  • Experience of source control such as Perforce or Github 
  • Demonstrable skills in game or level design 
  • Experience using Steam Workshop for Human: Fall Flat to create levels
