We are working with an award winning, Nottingham based Games Studio who build ground-breaking games and content for some of the world’s biggest publishers including Microsoft, Sony, Apple and Sega.

They are looking for a highly creative Senior Concept Artist and you would be joining a community of diverse, game-loving people ranging from industry veterans to talented graduates.

As their Senior Concept Artist, your Portfolio is essential to your application and should include everything from rapid ideation through to the finished article, giving the Art Director an understanding of how you work and your creativity.

The heart of this role will be your passion to embrace every stylistic challenge, and you will have an incredible imagination that never stops coming up with new ways to interpret a brief. The ability to add an unexpected twist of surprise and strive to deliver excellent concept pieces is what they really want you to bring to the table!

The role:

  • Hands-on creation of concept pieces to drive the direction of a project and help communicate the Project Art Director’s stylistic vision throughout the team
  • Creating and iterating on ideas whilst maintaining the artistic vision of the project
  • Maintaining quality and consistency with the other members of the concept team
  • Fast concept and iteration of ideas across all aspects of the brief

About YOU:

  • Able to work in multiple artistic styles
  • Proven experience in leading/mentoring a team
  • High levels of aesthetic ability, judgement and eye for detail
  • Excellent composition, lighting and colour theory skills and appreciation
  • Excellent communication skills and a pro-active approach to the role
  • Keen understanding of cultural influences beyond games; movies, books, TV, comics etc
  • Be able to generate images from rapid ideation to high quality illustrative pieces
  • Demonstrable talent across all concept disciplines, figurative, environment and object work 

Bonus Points

  • Shipped at least one AAA title
  • 3D modelling and rendering
  • Experience working in film, TV, publishing
