Senior Game Designer

A London-based games studio is currently looking for a Senior Game Designer to work on a range of hugely exciting children’s entertainment IPs.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Creative Director in designing the core mechanics of these new titles. The current team is made up of developers from AAA backgrounds and throughout the company’s history have released successful and award-winning games.

As the Senior Game Designer, you will be outlining new ideas for the title, such as prototyping, mechanic design, core game design and interactive narration for the users – you must also bring FUN to the games! You will be up to date with present mobile/tablet trends and enjoy playing and making games. The ideal candidate will understand the F2P market and have good knowledge of analysing in-game metrics and tweaking gameplay/levels as needed. 

This role will promote freedom in your work style and will allow you to be creative with your design – the design is at the heart of all their games so it’s important to understand the overall experience of playing the game, rather than focussing solely on the mechanics.

This is a 6 months FTC with the possibly of being extended or being made permanent. 

Requirements 

• At least 4 years’ experience as a Game Designer in the video games industry
• A great knowledge of games and an excellent understanding of what makes them work
• Worked on either console/PC or mobile games (mobile preferred)
• Experience writing clear and concise specs and feature documentation
• A good understanding of Premium and F2P games
