New Exclusive role to amiqus
Maze Theory is pushing the boundaries of interactive and immersive character-based story telling
within VR. They are seeking a technical artist to work with them on a unique character-based major IP
debut VR game, due for release in 2020. They are an equal opportunity employer. They will work
alongside the rest of the team and key stakeholders, on a daily basis.
ABOUT YOU:
As a senior or lead technical artist, you will be a key driving force within the team developing and
maintaining their proprietary technologies, project infrastructure and production workflows.
To apply you will require
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of producing tools and scripts
• Knowledge and understanding of how to improve art productivity
• Knowledge and understanding of Unity production pipelines
• Familiar with art pipelines from concept to final master
• Technical and creative ability to work within constraints of console development
• A good collaborator that can communicate effectively with technical, design and art teams
• Ability to manage your own time and work proactively
• Able to adapt to new technologies and technical challenges
• An eagerness to drive VR character interactions forward into the future
• Exceptional eye for detail
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience of full game cycle development in a similar role
• Experience of art pipelines, in particular creating new tools within Unity
• Experience with the development of environment and character assets
We see this as a senior level lead role where you will actively contribute to the growth of new start
up studio. Capable of leading by example, including demonstrating a willingness to give and receive
feedback, collaborate with others to share techniques, ideas, and contribute to a positive working
environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work cross discipline to design and implement a new cutting-edge art workflow and pipeline
• Recognising inefficiencies and pipeline issues and identifying and implementing solutions
• Creating and maintaining VFX shaders in collaboration with the programming team
• Scripting of new art tools/systems as required to improve art and designer productivity
• Work with the team to ensure all art is implemented correctly, adhering to naming
conventions and best practices as defined by you
• Provide general guidance to the team to achieve an excellent art pipeline that can support
this innovative IP based VR game
• You will work with the production team to schedule and organise your workload
• Partner with developers, 3rd parties to build workflows, tools, engine, editor, & art features
• Constantly improve & advocate for content creation and production best practices
• Provide mentorship, feedback, and training to others on the team as we grow
