Are you an expert in C++ programming? Are you motivated by the real technical programming challenges? Do you have an interest in video games? If you’ve said yes then we may have the perfect role for you!

Amiqus are working with a leading independent games studio, based in Birmingham, to help them in their search for a Senior Technology Programmer. They’re looking for a C++ master with a genuine enthusiasm for all things low-level – graphics, engine, tools etc.

The studio are building on 10 years of experience and are well known in the industry for producing superb console games, they have fantastic relationships with Sony and Microsoft and are currently hard at work on their second self-published title. They have a hugely talented programming team in place and this role is vital for their future growth plans – you’ll act as the right hand person to the Technical Director, leading by example to guide and mentor existing team.

We’d like to speak to people with:

Significant knowledge of C++ with a solid grasp of advanced programming principles.
Exceptional maths skills.
Demonstrable experience in a senior tech programmer role where you will have worked on graphics, engine, physics or tools programming.

This role is perfect for an experienced programmer who is looking to take that step up in their career, previous games experience is preferred but not essential so it’s a rare opportunity to make a move into video games. It’s an important role too, you’ll be a hugely important cog in their programming machines responsible for:

Writing and optimising low level engine, tools, graphics, and physics code.
Assisting with performance tuning and ensuring target frame rates on all platforms are maintained.
Helping to manage and support a small team of programmers.

You’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary that includes a whole host of benefits including flexible working so if this role sounds like the role for you then we should talk! Please send your CV and programming portfolios to liam.durkan@amiqus.com
