Technical Artist (Lighting)

A Midlands based AAA Games studio are currently undergoing an expansion due to the success of their past AAA titles and require a Technical Artist to help define art pipelines, workflows and optimisation processes for their asset development team.  

The studio have a long standing history in creating some of the best games on the market on console platforms. You will be working on a brand new project and will have the opportunity to work closely with the Art Director in overseeing the strategic vision of the in-game lighting and seeing how this plays an important part in their development.  

The successful candidate will work closely with the Art, Programming, Design and Production teams, where you will be supporting and providing technical guidance on all Lighting related responsibilities. 

Requirements 

  • Past experience in the games industry as an Experienced/Senior or Principal Technical Artist 
  • At least 1 shipped title on PC/Console platforms 
  • Solid 3DS Max and Photoshop skills  
  • Knowledge of Maxscript, C# or HLSL (or similar)
  • Experience with Unity or Unreal (or similar in house engine)
  • Experience with PBR techniques would be a bonus
