Technical Artist with Max to assist this world leading game developer shape their most ambitious title to date.

You’re a highly motivated Technical Artist with a keen interest in lighting you have experience implementing art pipelines and workflows for cutting-edge console games, and can push visual quality using the latest lighting, rendering and asset creation techniques.

This studio's mission is to be the world’s leading games developer in their genre. Over the past 30 years they have consistently created innovative and successful award-winning games.

Join this talented team to help shape their most ambitious title ever, from its inception to a genre-defining experience.

You have:

Full lifecycle experience as either a Senior or Principal Technical Artist on at least two shipped console titles, using current-generation art techniques and processes.

Experience with Physically Based Rendering techniques and processes.

A deep understanding of lighting, colour theory and post processing and their application within a production workflow.

Knowledge of commonly used programming languages, in particular MaxScript, C# and HLSL.

A passion for videogames and enthusiastic approach to collaborative artwork creation.

An analytical mindset capable of translating high level artistic concepts into reality and defining the processes and workflows in order to achieve them.

Ability to break complex techniques into understandable language and communicate effectively to others.

Experience of game engines and toolsets, such as Unreal or Unity.

Technical knowledge across multiple platforms.

Solid skills in 3DS Max and Photoshop.

Relentless visual critiquing skills!

 

You will:

Support the Art Director and development team

Confidently liaise between Art, Programming, Design and Production teams.

Define art pipelines, workflows, budgets and optimisation processes for asset development, for streamlined production and jaw-dropping visual quality.

Create both interior and exterior in-game lighting to achieve and surpass the Art Directors vision and push the visual quality of the entire game.

Define, support and provide guidance on technical implementation across all art disciplines.

Stay up to date with cutting edge development and rendering techniques and competing titles.

Bring new techniques into the studio and recommend training requirements on an on-going basis.
