Technical Director

A Newcastle based VR Studio are looking for a Technical Director to work on their award winning 3D visualisation software.

The technology has been renowned in different sectors and allows users to create and customise models, with an added bonus of bringing them to life using Kinect and VR technologies such as Oculus Rift.

The studio have already established themselves in the retail, commercial, exhibition and automotive industries and are looking to impress other industries with their technology. As a member of the development team you will be working on new and existing VR projects and help achieve high quality, photorealistic solutions to each project you undertake.

As the Technical Director you will help manage and mentor a small team of developers, as well as driving the overall quality bar to the studios products and services. You’ll play a key figure in the setup of the studio, making strategic decisions on the development processes, such as leading the studios hiring plans and overseeing the quality of each project.

Requirements

• At least 5 years’ experience in the games industry (preferred)/Software Engineering or similar relevant field.
• Experience with either C++ or C# and Unity 3D
• Graphics/Rendering experience
• Strong mathematics, 3D Maths, C++, C#, HLSL/cg, OpenGL and DirectX 11/12 skills
• Past experience of leading/mentoring teams
• Engine experience with Unity or Unreal would be a bonus
