Technical Director

  • Location: London
  • Salary/rate: £100,000
  • Date posted: 07/08/18
  • Job reference: 6670
  • Permanent
This vacancy has now expired.

Are you a Technical Lead, with ambitions to create something totally brand new and innovative? Are you capable of making long term strategic decisions on software, tools and back-end services whilst also focusing on the 'now' of actual code architecture etc?

We are partnered exclusively with one of the world's biggest and most recognisable toy companies. This company will have featured in your childhood, and almost certainly your children may be playing with it. They are looking to innovate and bridge the gap between physical play and the interactive world. This is where you come in.

They are looking for you to start and grow a team to focus on developing software and firmware to be able to do this and offer the global players a truly uniquely interactive experience. There is no-one currently doing this type of thing on this scale.

The role is based in London, and will be working with a small team initially. The brief is for you to come in and use your expertise as a technical lead to develop a long term road map, and build a team around you. You will be expected to review code daily, answer architectural questions and rapidly prototype ideas. You are hands-on, but able to keep the bigger picture in mind.

To be considered for this role, we'd like to see:

  • Previously held a Tech Lead/CTO/Technical Director level role throughout the full life cycle of a version 1.0 of a product which encompasses a multi device software stack
  • You've worked ideally on a highly scaled system
  • Genuine, in-dept, knowledge of front and back end services
  • You'd ideally be familiar with the group of typical game engines and languages including UE4, Unity 3D and C#/C++
  • Strong communication skills. Confident, but empathetic and energising

This is a senior role attracting a salary of £100,000. The company also offers a large bonus based on company/department achievements and a whole host of benefits. They will fully relocate you and your family if required.

I am excited by this role, it is a genuine opportunity to be a part of something which will be talked about by families around the role. This is a totally new and innovative change by this company, and you can be a part of it.
