We're partnered with one of Europe's premier mobile game developers. They have a history of developing successful technology and AAA mobile games, with specific praise upon their graphics and polish. The studio is now developing a brand new game using the world's biggest Sci-fi IP. They are at super-early stages with this project, and as such need a Technical Director to spin up the technical team and begin making the fundamental decisions for the technical future of this title. Someone with experience of both C++/UE4 and C#/Unity would be good, as the choice of engine has still to be made. The team will be small to begin with, so someone who is happy to be fairly hands-on, but also able to pull back and look at the bigger development picture would be ideal.

  • Collaborating with all disciplines to create technical and gameplay prototypes
  • Ensuring the creation of well-designed, adaptable, and testable software
  • Architecting and writing production ready code after prototyping
  • Mentoring members of the code team

To be considered for the role, we'd love to see:

  • You have developed and released multiple game using Unity an/or Unreal as senior member of the team
  • Experience taking titles from concept to execution
  • Deep experience with C# and C++, plus a thorough understanding of mobile CPU and GPU hardware
  • You can give superb insight into AAA game architecture
  • Expertise in multiple areas, such as - NPC behaviour, AI, multiplayer, UI. UX, graphics, tools, systems, game engines
  • Collaborative approach to team work and development
  • Approachable and inclusive communication skills

This role is well compensated, in return for your hard work and versatile skillset you can expect:

  • To work in an inclusive and flexible work place
  • Salary between £90,000 - £120,000
  • 25 days holiday, plus public holidays and Christmas shutdown
  • Private medical care and healthcare cash plan
  • Life insurance and critical illness insurance
  • Discounted gym membership and free weekly yoga class
  • Flexible working hours
  • Free fruit, snacks & soft drinks provided daily, as well as free lunch on Fridays
  • Annual season ticket loan and cycle to work scheme

This role will not be on the market for long. To join a studio of this stature on a 'green-field' project, with an IP so recognizable and respected this isn't just a 'new-job'. This is a career defining opportunity. Apply now or contact Alan Dixon on 01925 839737 or alan.dixon@amiqus.com for more information
