Can you lead a team of back-end programmers, implementing code standards and reviews? Can you take vague feature descriptions and ideas into a workable iteration? Is problem solving second nature?
If so I have an epic opportunity for you. One of Irelands leading games studio is looking for a Lead Server Developer; you will be leading a team and working closely with the CTO, CEO, Creative Director and production team to bring together the desired vision, mechanics and 'feel' of the game and put it online using robust and scalable networks. You will be reviewing and enhancing the game server development standards and processes. And always looking to push the quality bar on every topic (E.g. code efficiency, stability, game server performance, architecture, frictionless programming, collaborative working, project structure etc.).
This studio has a very successful title under their belt and has recently secured a new IP from a well-known franchise, these combined will offer you a hugely promising studio to work for. The studio itself is friendly, professional and original. The CEO is passionate and inspirational; you will want to work for him. The new CTO is looking for this person (you) to be his number two, someone who is essentially a 'Server Tech Director'.
Ideally I am looking for:
In depth knowledge of Unity3D, you will have used it for the past few years on top 3D Games
Solid programming skills in Python and another programming language (e.g. C#, Elixir, Java, C++)
Solid Linux skills (Bash, working with log files, monitoring IO etc.).
Ability to write efficient low-latency and low-IO code.
Solid understanding of consistency and transactions.
Experience working with Redis, ORMs and migration scripts.
Experienced in developing large-scale web services and at least basic DevOps experience.
Natural flair for problem solving and maths
Demonstrable experience in a leadership role, running code reviews, setting standards and feeding back appropriately
Someone with drive
