About you
You are a highly skilled communications professional with over 15 years’ experience in the gaming sector, looking to lead a best-in-class team within a highly regarded global agency. You boast an extensive contact book and deep network of fellow industry decision makers. With experience directing/overseeing campaigns spanning the full gamut of publicity and influencer marketing, you are an expert on your sector and skilled in unlocking new business from a range of local and international clients. A clear and confident delegator, you are an excellent team player and invested in the development and nurturing of your team. You have a proven record for driving creative ideation within your team and possess the pitching skills to bring your ideas to life for potential clients. Agency experience is desirable, as is experience building a team.
Business Development
- Use existing network of contacts to inform immediate new business priorities, promoting DDA’s offering.
- Drive all networking activities locally and internationally and in-line with departmental budgets
- Bring in new business on a project and retained basis
- Build on existing credentials to highlight the potential value the agency can bring to games publishers and developers where relevant
- Highlight the capabilities of other departments to the industry in addition to the comms function, working with other Department Leads
- Manage P&L for the Games Division, working closely with SVP Consumer Publicity and Finance Director on target setting
Client Relationships
- Nurture existing contacts at games publishers and developers and introduce them to DDA’s offering
- Develop new relationships that can further new business aims. Identify networking opportunities that might be beneficial to the broader senior team and Board members
- Introduce wider project teams to clients with good judgement
- Ensure client satisfaction on any project for which we are engaged and manage that relationship overall
- Troubleshoot any issues with client relationships, work with Games Director to ensure project teams are appropriately supported
Strategy and Commercial Awareness
- Champion innovation in our campaigns, surpassing client expectations and setting a benchmark for our competitors
- Confidently communicate strategic direction of the division to the Board
- Work with SVP Consumer Publicity and Finance Director to develop recruitment strategy based on existing capabilities and industry standards
- Recommend strategies for upskilling your team
- Review and revise rate cards accordingly
Delivery
- Provide quality control on all pitch documents, inspiring colleagues to push for greater creativity within the bounds of each brief
- Run/direct campaigns in the UK and provide the client with regular updates
- Oversee the Games Director in maintaining standards for reporting and all other internal and external comms within your purview
- Troubleshoot any issues relating to this ongoing work with the support of the Senior Team
People
- Become invested in growing the experience of members of the team through their work with you
- Be approachable and professional and positively contribute to the team environment and office culture
- Line manage the team with the support of the SVP
Undertake any other task deemed to be appropriate to this role, as directed by the Management Team and Board.
