A Midlands based games studio is currently looking for an Engine Programmer to work on developing new in-depth content for an already existing, successful PC/Console title. They are currently going through a period of expansion and require this Engine programmer to help with aspects such as optimisation and helping develop the Engine technology further.   

As the Engine programmer you’ll be the expert in the team, you’ll get involved with working on the studios Engine technology for present and upcoming content, in a studio wide position. There’s a lot of creativity for the role and in return they want this person to own the Engine Tech for the studio going forward, you’ll be the go-to person for anything Engine related, helping push the boundaries of an already successful title.   

You’ll be getting involved with improving the architecture for the game engine, designing and implementing game specific engine components and researching new approaches to tooling and automation, with a strong focus on optimisation.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience in the games industry
  • Strong Engine/Graphics/Optimisation Development experience
  • C++ or C# experience
  • Experience with working on Console or PC games
  • Strong experience with Unity is a bonus
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating live code or games you’ve worked on
