Server Programmer / Server Developer

A VR Studio based in Liverpool are looking to hire a Server Developer to work on their new Virtual Reality Social Platform, which brings together people from around the world, where they can interact, share content and go to a range of breath-taking environments.

The studio were formed by a range of veterans from the games industry, who have come from a long standing AAA console development background. 

As the Server Developer you will work closely with the Technical Director in making sure that users can access the platform quickly and efficiently. You will also work with the studios backend technology, designing highly scalable systems to support new and upcoming features. Your main tasks will be to work on enhancing its features to be able to cope with a huge demand, ensuring the user experience is consistent and lag free, ensuring all systems (cloud and office) are secure.  

The platform prides itself on connectivity and bringing people together from long distances, so this position will allow you to completely own the Server side to the platform, which is already attracting the attention of major tech and commercial companies.
Whether your experience has come from Games, E-commerce, VR or Banking – as long as you have managed large servers and have a passion for VR industry, then we will be interested in hearing from you.    

Requirements 

• At least 1 years’ experience with Server/Backend technologies
• An interest in VR and the Entertainment Industry
• Past experience of setting up Servers and maintaining them
• Experience with Java and SQL
• A bonus to your application if you have experience with AWS and VR
