A Midlands based Independent Games studio are currently looking to expand their Art team with a Character Artist, building on the recent success of their free to play title which has surpassed over 31 million downloads and has over 350,000 daily average users. 

As the Character Artist you will work closely with the Art Director in defining the vision of the title. Your primary role will be to model and texture a range of characters that the player will interact with, such as NPC’s and main/playable characters. You will work closely with Animators to define the realism of each character, which will further contribute to the studios high reputation. 

This role will offer you the chance to work with people on a day-to-day basis, who bring a collective portfolio of high-selling games. As an Artist in this team, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and model a range of characters in a highly customisable platform.  

You will be working on games which have attracted millions of unique players and play a huge part in developing key features, which will enable players to customise a unique gameplay experience. 

We welcome applications from Junior to Senior Levels for this role, as there are 2 positions. 

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in the games industry as an Artist
  • Strong Character Art experience
  • Experience with Photoshop and either 3DS Max or Maya
  • Knowledge of engines such as Unity or Unreal  
  • A portfolio demonstrating a variety of photorealistic or stylised Characters  
  • Animation experience would be a bonus
