My client seeks a Technical Animator to join their expanding animation team. This role involves creating and maintaining character and prop rigs, optimizing animation pipelines in Maya, and collaborating with artists and programmers to implement cutting-edge tools. The opportunity for remote work is available, requiring a self-motivated team player who excels in managing their time effectively.
The successful candidate will report to the animation lead, contributing to one project initially but with a broader focus on handling rigs and technical animation tasks across the entire studio. Game pipeline knowledge is crucial, and the role may involve working on multiple projects concurrently.
Responsibilities include building, skinning, testing, and maintaining rigs, creating animation tools, scripts, and pipelines, identifying and improving technical animation areas, researching new technologies, and documenting tools and processes. The candidate will support the animation team, ensuring they have the necessary tools, and communicate progress to the line manager.
